Jocheon Road of Exile Trail
■ Jocheon-eup where the trail lies was where Jocheongwan Office was located at. It was a major gateway port to Jeju along with Hwabuk Port and Sanji Port. Many exiles from the mainland were sent to Jeju through Jocheon. Many exiles also prayed facing the north in front of Yeonbukjeong, a pavilion located in Jocheon, and wished for the day they would be allowed to go back to their homes. Jocheon was also the place where the last exile Lee Seung-hoon spent his time in exile.
